Hi! My name is David, and I'll be posting here on and off. I am enjoying going through the Manieri Jazz & Swing Collection so much -- you can browse (like me) or you can take advantage of the great jazz book collection and take a more structured approach. In any case, it's enlightening -- and fun.
The last week or so, I've been listening to Art Tatum's "God Is In the House", a spellbinding collection of "after hours" jam sessions. Art is considered by many to be the pinnacle of jazz pianists, but sometimes the technique can overwhelm the song. Not so with this collection; Art is relaxed, swinging and totally jaw-droppingly amazing.
Thanks for listening!
